CREATIVE DIRECTOR - Ning

Ning is the co-founder and Creative Director for Mighty Magic Factory. She holds a BA. Mass Communications, RMIT (2007), Dip. in Marketing, London Chamber of Commerce & Industry (2004) and Dip. Film, Sound & Video, Ngee Ann Polytechnic (2002) - specializing in Producing & Scriptwriting.

She is a multi-award winning student scriptwriter and as the most outstanding student of 2001, Ning was awarded the prestigious 'The Right Angle Scholarship'. She was the Writer & Production Manager for the 16mm short film "CHOP!" that was screened at international film festivals like; Internetowy Serwis Filmowy Stopklatka, Poland (2002), Beijing Film Academy, China (2003), Tel-Aviv Cinematheque, Israel (2004) and Black Movie Festival, Geneva (2006).

Ning's professional background in Public Relations and Marketing Communication has also honed her skills at creatively communicating multi-dimensionally to a target audience.

Ning is also a professional on-stage performer - being Singapore 's only professional female magician, 'Magic Babe'. She has been profiled by several newspapers and magazines, most recently Seventeen, Simply Her, Lian He Zao Bao, MagicSeen and FHM Singapore.

Ning is also owner of Magic Boutique (www.magicboutique.sg ), Singapore 's No. 1 online magic shop, which is also home to her popular blog.

 

STAR EDUTAINER - Shawn Chua

Since 2000, Shawn Chua has been performing as a professional kids and family entertainer. With more than 500 performances under his belt, Shawn brings experience and a passionate intangible quality that makes him a hit with children audiences.

Young, dynamic and well-spoken, Shawn is a multi-dimensional performer whose main disciplines are Puppet Ventriloquism and Magic.

His original puppet characters and natural talent to bring the creatures to life coupled with his sophisticated presentations make him an unparalleled vent artist in this country. He has attended Master Classes in Puppetry & Animation by Eduardo de Paiva Souza as well as workshops by highly acclaimed professional puppeteers, Jos van Kan & Ulrike Quade, who are all highly respected in international arts circles.

A serious craftsman when it comes to delivering his message and show to his audience, Shawn has amassed an impressive list of credentials and milestones:  

  • International Brotherhood of Magicians Singapore Ring 115 Parlour Magic Champion (2006)  
  • Performer for Smoking Control Program for the Health Promotion Board (50 shows - 2008/ 2009)
  • Performer/ Project Manager for 'Emergency Preparedness Show' for the National Fire & Civil Emergency Preparedness Council (2008)
  • Writer/ Performer/ Project Manager for Schwan Stabilo Road Shows (2007- 2008)
  • Writer for the 'Fire Safety Show' commissioned by the National Fire Prevention Council (2006 - 2007)

Over the years, Shawn has created several stage characters, the most popular among kids is Captain Amazing - Singapore's FIRST EVER Superhero for Kids! This incredible superhero uses his special 'powers' (a truckload of variety arts skills) to entertain kids and most importantly to empower them with confidence and enthusiasm.

 

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER - J C Sum

J C Sum is co-founder of Mighty Magic Factory and oversees all creative and business operations of the company.  

J C is widely regarded as one of the very top professional illusionists & magic producers from Asia. His specialty is creating & customizing magic content for any medium: live events, television & video, print media, Internet and live shows.

In August 2007, J C made history and world headline news by successfully presenting South East Asia 's FIRST EVER Mega Illusion - "The Impossible Teleportation". In this mega-scale illusion, J C teleported himself from street level while surrounded by over 9000 spectators and reappeared on the roof of a skyscraper, 50 floors above, within a ring of witnesses.   

Specifically for kids & school shows, J C is the creator and producer for the following school shows:

  • Schwan Stabilo 'Puppet Game Show' School Shows (40 shows - 2008/ 2009)

J C holds a B.A. (NUS) in English Language and Sociology and is the founder of Concept:Magic (www.conceptmagic.biz ).
